Quaker Connect Overview & Part 1 of Application

Learn about Quaker Connect

Interested people in a Quaker meeting or church can learn more about Quaker Connect through the video on this page, and through our website and FAQs page.

Fill Out Interest Form (by September 30th)

When they have decided they are interested, a Friend can submit the online application form part one below. Any member or attender can fill out an interest form of behalf of their local meeting or church to begin their process of discernment about applying to Quaker Connect. The meeting is under no obligation to complete the application, but once we know that there is interest, we may be in touch periodically to check in about how your discernment process is going.

Church/Meeting Approves a Minute to Participate (by September 30th)

Once the local meeting minutes approval, they will name 2-3 apprentices, and approve a paragraph or two on why the church or meeting feels called to participate. That minute can be uploaded here. You may (and very likely should due to timing) begin your process of identifying apprentices simultaneous to preparing to do this in business meeting. You may submit apprentice applications before the minute is completed as soon as there has been a process to select them. Depending on your church or meeting’s practices, for example, the apprentices may be people who self-nominated because they felt led to Quaker Connect, people who the pastor or other leaders invited to apply, or people whose names are being brought to business meeting by the appropriate committee that nominated them.

Fill out Apprentice Questionnaires (by September 30th)

Once named, apprentices should each fill out their own application (part 2) using this form. These first steps should be completed by September 30th, 2025.

Application Review

All completed and submitted applications will be reviewed by Quaker Connect leadership in September 2025. Churches/Meetings will be contacted who will make up a cohort of approximately 10 meetings/churches engaging in a process of experimentation and renewal beginning in February 2026. In-person kick-off retreat will take place in March of 2026.

Program Orientation

During Fall of 2025, congregations that have been selected will complete an online orientation going over the responsibilities and commitments of the program. After this orientation, the cohort for next year will be finalized!

“You are the light of the world.
A city built on a hill cannot be hid.
No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket,
but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others,
so that they may see your good works
and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:14–16 (NRSV)

“Vosotros sois la luz del mundo;

Mateo 5:14–16 (RVR1960)

Ready to fill out an interest form?

The application is broken into two parts. The first part is this interest form which only one person from meeting or church has to complete below.

After completing, the meeting should begin the process of discernment to approve a minute of approval and identify 2-3 people who will serve as apprentices in the program.

Each apprentice will receive an invitation to complete the second part of the application. Every apprentice needs to complete part two of the application for your application to be considered complete.

Not yet sure who all will join you on this journey? No problem! We can add apprentices and provide them with part two of the application as soon as you let us know who they are and their email addresses.
